I just had to share this with you all because i found it very amusing. My uncle Mike e-mailed me this a short time ago to express his feelings on my "birthday" post.
"Heidi you think your bothered by your son turning 12. How do you think I feel about it ? I was like 13 when you were born. From now on I have some rules. Rule number 1. Anyone younger than me must stop having birthdays. The reason ... the Birthdays of others depress me. My own Birthday sends me searching for antidepressant medication. Rule number 2. I must stop having Birthdays. ( In case of any misunderstanding by stop I do not mean die. I plan to never have any rule for that.) I just do not want to have any more Birthdays. Rule number 3. Children need to be taught to listen to adults. As part of this rule the message (Do not grow up ... it just is not worth it.) or (being a grownup is over rated.) or (grownups have to go to work and be miserable) needs to be taught. Who knows maybe some day a child will actually listen to the Wisdom Of an Adult. I have told children at times not to grow up. But you know how children are. Children never listen to Adults.
